There are two types of TrueView ads, namely Video Discovery Ads and In-Stream Ads. Video Discovery Ads will show up when you do a search on YouTube, just like you would on Google. In-Stream Ads will play just before your selected video starts.
You will find that some in-stream ads are basically non-skippable and will play before, in the middle, or after the main video. This is what we refer to when we talk about Preroll ads.
Preroll adds can be from 15 to 30 seconds in duration and are non-skippable. They can include people, dialogue, audio and anything else that you feel might be appropriate to your ad. Let’s also remember that these are pay per click ads, so ensure that you make them really worth while.
Bumper ads or Bumpers, are the shortest type of YouTube video ad available. They will last no more than 6 seconds and need real clout!
